LNW Consulting Engineers and Project Managers is a leading lifting and materials-handling specialist. Our services have been deployed for ore handling at mines and quarries; ore blending in the steel industry; and coal handling at mines and harbours. This is in addition to the cutting-edge technology of large materials handling machinery being made available by our European partners. We develop tailor made solutions for large materials handling installations.
Notably, we are the African agent for Syralco, a leading dry bulk materials-handling and lifting equipment manufacturer.
Syralco has more than 300 installations operating worldwide deployed in port handling, as well as ship loading and unloading applications. Syralco also manufacturers state-of-the-art stacking and reclaiming, as well as crane and lifting equipment, including container and goliath-type cranes. This is in addition to equipment for raw-materials handling and blending for, among other industries, cement, fertiliser, woodchips and chrome.
We, therefore, have access to state-of-the-art licensed materials handling and lifting technology. In addition to Syralco’s extensive technical materials handling skills and experience, with LNW Consulting Engineers and Project Managers’ resources, our combined team of engineers and technicians enable us to provide EPC and EPCM services.
We also have the ability to undertake baseline assessments on any materials handling and lifting equipment, installations requiring replacement or upgrading.
LNW Consulting Engineers and Project Managers takes pride in being able to deliver comprehensive turnkey materials-handling and lifting solutions to the industry.
Our multidisciplinary engineering services span a broad spectrum of other materials handling equipment which includes portal scrapers and bucket-wheel type reclaimers; conveyor and railcar systems; as well as slewing and fixed stackers. We are also knowledgeable in grab-floating, ship-to-shore container and other types of cranes. Our experience further includes gantry structures and rails; cranes and lifting equipment; draglines; and purpose-made applications; through to design specifications; and fabrication and implementation.
LNW Consulting Engineers and Project Managers also undertakes performance assessments of materials-handling, lifting, mining and smelter equipment, as well as commodity beneficiation processes. When undertaking these investigations, fieldwork includes visual and thermographic and photographic inspections with handheld equipment or drones. A vast array of ultrasonic inspection; vibration monitoring; and CCTV inline inspection equipment is also deployed in these applications. As a brownfield project engineering specialist, our engineering teams work closely with our clients to ensure plant sustainability and extension of asset lifecycles to the optimum.
Since inception, we have grown and developed our mechanical engineering services into a sophisticated discipline. It involves the application of cutting-edge practices to solve complex engineering problems.
Our core mechanical engineering competencies include:
• Linear and non-linear structural analysis and design via FEA
• Integrity assessment and failure analysis of structures that are subjected to dynamic and fluctuating loading, such as fatigue
• Weld fatigue assessment and weld repair designs
